Did I tell you I love my bed?

We had a very uncomfortable, slowly disintegrating bed for many years. I think it was Alex's from when he still lived at home. It was a queen size ensemble. It was OUR first bed. I guess that makes it sort of special. But it got really old.
We got used to it.
But when people came over and laid on or sat on our bed (I should clarify.....usually this would be my girlfriends...you know, when we are looking at something in my closest or escaping the kids or whatever) they would highlight just how ridiculous it was that we were still sleeping on this lumpy old bed.
I resented that we would have to spend a lot of money on a new bed that, quite frankly, noone was really ever going to see or appreciate. Now I understand.....I APPRECIATE IT. Anyway, we had a day of bed shopping last year and I was most unhelpful. I love shopping, but not for beds. Bedshops, for those of you who may have NOT purchased a new bed in recent years, has become almost a sport. I needed some freaking gaterade after an hour of it. The bed 'sellers' were fierce. The questions they asked me seemed ridiculous. I thought a simple, "Do you like your bed soft or hard?" would suffice, but no, there are apparently 234 issues to consider when purchasing a bed that is 'just right for you'.
I totally surrendered the process to Alex. He embraced it. He bought us a bed. Quite quickly, too, I may add.
And I LOVE my bed.
I now understand what I had been missing. I have always slept well, but now, if it was possible, my sleep experienced has been ENHANCED. I love it.
So.....to go with my new bed, I needed new linen ( we went from a queen to a king)...and that was some shopping I could get in to.
Why am I writing about it now? (Sussanah/Sheye/Kath/etc etc are probably asking given I sent them text photos of my linen desires last year)....Because I just found some links to MY LINEN. (Thanks Carrie....)

This is a tiny pic of my beautiful white king size coverlet.

And because you need to have a "while one is being laundered", I got this too...in the green...

Yes, they were expensive, but I soooooooooooo love them.
Does linen make anyone else this happy?

That is a very beautiful quilt.

We bought a new bed a few years ago and we are still in love with it. Every night we crow, "This is soooo comfortable." We feel so lucky to have a comfy bed! Sad little people we are.

The importance of good linens can not be overstated. I used not to be a linen snob, but now I will not exchange my Egyptian cotton, 200 plus thread count sheets for anything. Funny how becoming a parent makes you appreciate not only the quantity of your sleep, but the quality as well.

Ain't that the truth! Sleep was always high on my priority, but now it is not so much about the quantity (though quantity is sure nice) but quality is essential.
