I grew up in a household where, despite my mum being an artist, walls were sacred and you NEVER put sticky tape on them. Even blue-tac was hardly tolerated.
My mum had some great artwork. Very much "arts and ghosts" type (I will add that link to my fav links as that art is amazing). Even though I cannot draw or paint or sew, I am creative too (Love to scrap), but I definitely have a respect for art.....
So it's no suprise that my house looks like this now...
(And that'd be one of my in resident artists....she expresses herself with a range of free spirited style approaches.....)

Aria looks smart in the pink wellies/shorts combo. Might have to steal that look.
Our doors and walls look similar... and you can't even see what the fridge looks like because we have it covered in kid art.... but I will admit I cringe everytime I smooth down a strip of tape on my walls.
I love to see kids' art work - when they become adolescents you hardly see it anymore. I also love the books that Lucio writes - hope you've kept them to publish them on your blog one day.
